No worries about snagging or ripping your hair. The teeth are absolutely free of any seams or burrs. The teeth are hand-sawn, hand-cut and hand-polished to perfection! In the Salon, at home or when traveling, Hercules Sagemann's combs are unbeatable for styling.

Tip: Use nothing but the best on your hair...even at the salon!  Consult with your stylist about using your comb(s) at all of your appointments and get the most out of your hair care regimen.  Remember, if it's not a Hercules Sägemann comb, it's just a simple comb.  See for yourself!

Whether with lots of volume, curly or smooth, with or without texture, styling combs make an individual look possible.  Particularly when smoothing the hair, it is important that the comb is absolutely burr-free.  Only in this way is it possible to guarantee that the hair cuticle is preserved. The width, length and shape of the tooth determines the type of texture and gives the individual look. It is a friend to your hair and scalp. The ideal styling comb for every look!

  2. Detangling is a breeze!!

Posted by Denettra on 12th Mar 2014

This is the best comb for combing wet or damp hair!! My girls LOVE how it does not hurt as much on wash day. I used to get a ton of hair in the old shower comb we had been using, but not this comb! My daughter was like WOW, mom hardly any hair! These combs are a must if you are trying to grow and retain your hair length!!

  3. Small, Cute, Gets the Job Done

I love this comb. Its the perfect size for travel. I have the regular size one which is huge compared to this one.

  4. Must Have !

Posted by Mary W. on 9th Feb 2014

Now days people brag about their products but often don't live up to it. You must know if I didn't like the Magic mini Star Rake I wouldn't make an comment at all. But, I must tell you this Magic Star Rake is the best I have both sizes and had to order another mini Magic Star Rake for my purse because I raved so much about it to my daughter that she had to try it on my granddaughters hair and begged me for it and of course I gave it to her because I still had the larger Magic Star Rake but needed another mini Magic Star Rake for my purse so of course I ordered it. Again, I must tell you this product is everything hotCombs states. I love this rake it is the best. Highly Recommended Highly. :)

  5. Quality comb

Posted by Unknown on 30th Dec 2013

Compared to a regular wide tooth comb the Magic Star Rake is way better. Detangling is very easy and I have much less hair loss now. Plus the comb is made of good material and I like how well it can fit in your bag when you're on the go.

    I highly recommend this comb!

  6. best comb ever

Bought these combs in Germany and love, love, love them. So glad to find them in US. This company was just great. Received them so fast. Will be back

  7. Good detangling tool

Posted by Bre C on 27th Nov 2013

I use this comb as the first phase of the 3comb smooth, when detangling my hair. I have natural hair (and fall into the type A category). One thing that I absolutely love is that you can also use this comb as a pic. You can pic your roots to style your hair as you will like (or even into an 'fro). I love that you can use it in more than one way.

  8. the best comb on earth

Posted by crissy b on 29th Oct 2013

i have had this comb for 20 yrs no lie!!!!!! i lost it recently and thought they had stop selling it because i have never seen it in any stores. i obtain the comb because my mother is a hair dresser and had a million and one styling tools and accessories when she retired. i had my pick and chose this comb out of all the rest. i had grew my hair long and regular wide tooth combs would pull and tear out my hair, but not this one i use this one for everything styling blow drying detangling etc... i will be ordering the Hercules-Sagemann seamless comb with the mini so i can carry it in smaller purses. thank you so much for continuing to make this product.

  9. Great detangler

This is really a great comb for detangling kinky curly hair; even when the hair is dry.

  10. Great comb, very cute, wonderful design, but wrong one for my hair.

Posted by Great quality combs! on 31st May 2013

So this Magic Mini Star Rake is the first Hercules Sagemann comb I've purchased.

I had seen many reviews on the larger Magic Star Rake, and I was looking to replace a Shower detangling comb, and thought it would be perfect for me. I couldn't decide which of the two I should get, and customer service was excellent, very pleasant, so I decided upon the Mini Rake.

While it does what it says it will, I didn't realise that it's not the same as a Detangling shower comb. The pictures online are good, but it was my mistake not knowing that these combs are somewhat "blocky." and not the same as your typical shower detangling comb.

It DOES detangle hair, but I have a lot of very long fine, thin slightly wavy hair(Caucasion hair), and it took me longer in the shower than it would normally have with a detangling comb, due to my hair constantly wrapping around the really long teeth.

It also took longer to get all the tangles out than it normally would in the shower.

It is a very nicely made comb, very cute style, perfect size, and while ANY type of hair can use it, I think it's best suited for Afro type or mixed/really thick Hair. Really short, thick Caucasion hair would probably also benefit moreso than if it were long.

Boy am I glad I didn't get the bigger rake, because I can only imagine it being even more wrong for my hair type than the mini lol

Oh, alsoo the Mini Rake acts as a pick as well too due to it's really long teeth, and since they're also widely spaced teeth, I couldn't get conditioner as evenly distributed as I normally can.

With all this being said(and in order to help other people from doing what I ended up doing which was in the end buying three more combs) because the quality is so great in these combs, I then decided to try another comb which was the 1975.

That one worked well too, teeth are a bit shorter and not as individually wide as thev Mini Rake, a bit better but again the problemn with that one for my hair was it was widely spaced horizontally as well, so I still wasn't getting all the tangles out of my hair, and the bottoms of the teeth in both styles were sharp especially with my sensitive wet skin in the shower. I'd need to be carefull not to hurt my scalp lol

I never did notice before purchasing that they tend to have sharp edges, however with use, they do somewhat get less sharp.

So after using the 1975 for a while, I finally decided that the 703WW looked like a better bet for me as it looked online like the teeth should be not as wide horizontally as the 1975, and the teeth should also not be as long as the Mini Rake.

Turns out, it is better for my hair as a detangling shower comb than the Mini Rake or the 1975, and the funny thing is even though it says under it's details page, that it has "medium" spaced teeth, it's teeth are actually wider spaced than the 1975(I measured them side to side myself.)

The teeth are shorter though, and this is why it works so well for my hair because my hair isn't wrapping around the combs teeth, as it was with the other combs. So it's funny with each comb I've bought, I've come closer to the kind of comb my hair really needs, and my showees have gotten shorter with each comb I've bought lol

However it is a bit smaller, but not as small as some people have mentioned. One reviwere said it was like a "toy comb" but this is far from the truth, it's acytally not much smaller than the 1975, however the handle is a bit shorter, which I think actually makes it better.

It's perfect and it fits in my small cosmetic bag when the 1975 wouldn't, again due to the long handle on the 1975.

It is a slightly smaller comb, but I have really long hair, and it works better for my hair than the previous two I'd bought, now the teeth are still really sharp on the bottom, but not as much as the other two were for me.

So anyway, I finally noticed that the other small comb style which is the Magic Mini Star, has rounded teeth on the bottom and it's teeth don't look that close together, so I'm waiting on that one and hopefully try #4 will be the best detangling shower comb for my hair! (keeping my fingers crossed!)

They're all great combs though, but just wanted to let others know about my experience, it might help save others from spending as much as I have on combs I'm not using, because currently I have the Mini Rake and the 1975 which I don't have any use for right now because the 703WW works the best for what I need so far for me.

One last thing to note is that I've read reviews saying the combs smell strongly of rubber but they DO NOT! I have a really sensitive nose and if you put your nose right up to them, then yes you can smell a slight rubber smell, but it's not offending at all. No more so than a plastic comb smell, in fact I find it less "smelly" than any plastic comb.
